About Me

I am David Moss.

I’ve been photographing digitally for a number of years now and it has developed into an absorbing and enjoyable hobby.  I have been fortunate as well to be able to travel a lot in the past and that is something else that gives me a  great deal of pleasure.

I remember my first camera as a teenager (this will date me!).  It was an Ensign FullVue, a box shaped camera with a large square viewfinder on the top.   Not sure if it used 35mm film, but it boasted a very simple one-speed shutter and no adjustments whatsoever.  But I was happy with it and eventually it just died, but  it got me started on the photographic road where I have been ever since.

Then there was a gap while I got married, started a family, then went to Ghana for a few years where I bought my next camera, a Fujica 35-SE with a coupled light meter, variable ASA, coupled exposure/aperture and an excellent lens – a great camera that I used happily for quite a long time taking 35mm color slides.

Like the way of all flesh, this camera eventually developed an expensive problem and was reluctantly retired (I still have it) and I discovered that the digital age was with us, so I got a Fujifilm FinePix A303, 3.2 mega pixels with a few settings just to tide me over while I decided what to do digitally.  I was hooked!  I guess you know the feeling.

My Cameras will give you some information about the equipment I use now depending on the circumstances.

But enough about me – go to the Photo Gallery and take a look at some of my photographs. Then check out Reviews of some of the photography books I like and which would make useful additions to your bookshelf.
